About Our Project
Am I Toxic was created by a small group of psychologists, educators and writers who share a passion for promoting self‑awareness and emotional intelligence. We noticed that conversations around toxicity often devolve into blame and shame, which only deepens conflict. To counter this trend, we set out to design an accessible tool that encourages curiosity and compassion instead. Our free assessment helps people of all backgrounds reflect on their own behaviors and learn actionable strategies for improvement.
Our team draws on clinical research and decades of experience in conflict resolution to craft questions that resonate with everyday life. By integrating feedback from thousands of users we continuously refine the quiz to ensure it remains relevant and impactful. We believe that understanding one’s own patterns is the first step toward building healthier connections at home, at work and in the community. Empowering individuals to recognize and transform harmful habits can ripple outward, making our world a kinder place.
In addition to the quiz, we produce articles and resources on topics such as empathy, boundary setting and constructive communication. These materials complement the assessment by offering deeper dives into specific challenges many people face. We are committed to keeping all of our content free and easy to access so that everyone can benefit from these insights, regardless of their circumstances.
Our Values
- Empathy: We approach every topic with compassion and strive to understand diverse perspectives.
- Honesty: Our materials provide candid feedback and evidence‑based information without sensationalism.
- Growth: We believe that everyone is capable of positive change through reflection and intentional effort.
- Privacy: User data is never sold or shared; anonymity and respect are at the core of our design.
